Breathe, Annie, Breathe Review

Breathe, Annie, Breathe (Hundred Oaks, #5)
Miranda Kenneally

Summary:
Annie hates running. No matter how far she jogs, she can’t escape the guilt that if she hadn’t broken up with Kyle, he might still be alive. So to honor his memory, she starts preparing for the marathon he intended to race.

But the training is even more grueling than Annie could have imagined. Despite her coaching, she’s at war with her body, her mind—and her heart. With every mile that athletic Jeremiah cheers her on, she grows more conflicted. She wants to run into his arms…and sprint in the opposite direction. For Annie, opening up to love again may be even more of a challenge than crossing the finish line.

"Breathe, Annie, Breathe is an emotional, heartfelt, and beautiful story about finding yourself after loss and learning to love. It gave me so many feels. Her best book yet." — Jennifer Armentrout, New York Times bestselling author of Wait for You

 Rating: 5/5 stunning stars

Initial Reaction After Reading:
OH. MY. GOD. THERE'S A CLIFFHANGER? Whhyyyyy!!!

 Review:

Now that I've calmed down the slightest bit...

No, for the record, there is no cliffhanger. Sorry 'bout that. :x

I'm so glad that I got a chance to read this and found this one online. I've been reading Miranda Kenneally's Hundred Oak series for a bit and loved every single second of it. I loved Jordan and Sam Henry, Will and Parker, Matt and Kate, Jack and Savannah (though I did have to keep myself from mixing up Savannah's and Vanessa's names), and now with Annie and Jeremiah.

In Breathe, Annie, Breathe, the readers get to see Annie and Jeremiah, Matt's younger brother, the 'man-whore' that was briefly in Things I Can't Forget and the adrenaline junkie. We also have a lot of Matt in the book, with him being Annie's coach of sorts for the marathon that she has to go into. We also get to see some of the characters in the previous Hundred Oaks books: Matt, of course, but Kate, Jordan, Henry, Savannah, Vanessa, a little bit of Jack, Rory, JJ, Carter, and a bunch others.

Annie is training for a marathon that her deceased boyfriend was training for, for a final goodbye to him and to honor his death. Annie's the type of girl that wasn't very athletic and hated running-- couldn't even run a mile before she had this training. One day when she's running, she comes across Jeremiah. As the book goes on, they have a couple of accidents  (I won't go into detail for spoilers). Annie keeps on running every week, conversing with the other runners. Jeremiah and Annie start talking more, and Annie starts to worry about him because of his adrenaline addiction, which is also the reason why she's reluctant to really go more beyond than their 'just friends' position.

This book did just want me to go out and start running, but I'm not the runner either. Just a minute to two minutes I would be winded. I still do want to go out and run, even after a week after reading this book.

I absolutely loved the whole Hundred Oaks series, and this book in particular was one of my favorites out of every book that I've read.

More love to the relationship between Jeremiah and Annie. I could feel myself blushing a lot when I read the thing.

Can't wait for the next one when it comes out. (:

  1. I love Miranda Kenneally! Catching Jordan and Racing Savannah are my favorites. I'm on the tour for this so I'm holding off on reading my copy but I can't wait!

    1. Both of those are great ones! I'm not exactly sure which one's my favorite out of all the series, since I loved them too much. I hope you enjoy it!
